Task TimeCalculator
Find out where the day actually went. Give each activity in the Task Time Calculator a name plus its start and end time, and you will see how long every task took and the total duration of everything you tracked.
Track Your Tasks
List each task with the time spent on it and watch the totals add up.
How the Task Time Calculator Works
Building a log of your day, step by step.
Identify the Task
Give the activity a short description or name — "Code review" or "Onboarding call", for instance.
Input Times
Enter the start time and end time; the hours and minutes for that task appear straight away.
Log More Activities
Press "+ Add Task" for each new activity during the day — there is no cap.
Review Totals
The running total at the bottom updates as you go and includes decimal hours for company time systems.
What Is a Task Time Calculator?
What activity logging is and why it is worth doing.
Beyond a simple timesheet
A timesheet tends to record big blocks of project time per day or week. A Task Time Calculator zooms in on the individual pieces of a single day and answers a simple question: "Where did my time go?"
Splitting the day into named tasks shows how long meetings, email or focused work really take — far clearer than a single total.
Automatic duration calculation
Jotting down start and end times still leaves the arithmetic to you, and minutes are easy to get wrong. Here each line is timed automatically and the rows are added with minutes carried into hours correctly.
Flexible decimals
Decimal outputs come with every total: three tasks adding up to 3h 15m also show as 3.25 hours, ready for a company log or invoice.
When to Use a Task Time Calculator
Situations where task tracking makes a real difference.
Time Auditing
Log every activity for a few days to see honestly where time is wasted or misallocated.
Client Invoicing
Agencies and freelancers can record exactly how long each revision or call took and bill accurate hours.
Context Switching
When the job means hopping between tasks all day, log each short session to see the total time per activity.
Project Estimation
Real task durations give you baseline data to estimate future projects with far more confidence.
Legal Services
Logging each email, call and drafting session supports precise six-minute billing increments.
Remote Work Reporting
Many remote roles ask for a record of what was done and when; the task list makes a quick daily standup or end-of-day report.
Task Time Calculator FAQ
Answers to common questions about the Task Time Calculator.
The two are close cousins. A timesheet usually totals project hours over a week; the Task Time Calculator is built for the many small activities inside one day, so you can see what you did hour by hour.
It is designed for one day at a time. A task that runs past midnight is still timed correctly (23:00 to 01:00 = 2 hours), but there are no date fields. For spans across several dates, use the Time Duration Calculator.
As many as you like — keep pressing "+ Add Task" for each new activity.
No. Each row is timed from its own start and end, and the total simply adds the rows together, whatever order they are in.
Durations are added exactly as entered, overlaps included. If Task A runs 1:00–2:00 and Task B runs 1:30–2:30, the total is 2 hours, because the overlapping half hour is not removed.
There is no spreadsheet export. Use the Copy button on the summary for the totals, copy the rows into a document, or print the page to PDF.
Write down the start time the moment you switch to a task and the end time when you stop, then let the calculator do the sums. Logging as you go is far more accurate than reconstructing the day from memory.
